Saturdays, 7:30 – 8:30am – Lyceum Building
with Joyce Kelly
Yoga is not a “work-out;” Yoga is a “work-IN.”
You do not need to be a skinny gymnast or ballerina-type to be a yogi! Yoga was never intended to be purely physical, but part of the path to spiritual enlightenment. The yogic postures most popularly known to the Western world are simply meant to help yogis sit in meditation for long periods of time. Practicing this yoga opens the chakras and awakens kundalini. Psychic and spiritual gifts are natural side-effects. There are also specific postures to help with nearly every conceivable health concern, including a healthy libido, help falling asleep at night, and waking up in the morning.
In our various classes we will focus on such different areas as: Affirmations & Mantras; Ayurvedic Facial Yoga; Chakras; Yoga for a Healthy Libido; Yoga for Opening Psychic Gifts. All ages, body-types, and experience levels welcome!
In all classes we will practice:
- Basic, traditional yogic postures;
- Ancient breathing techniques;
- An Upanishad peace mantra, in Sanskrit.
